Day 1
Arrival in Baku
Arrival in Baku. You will be met by our driver and transferred to hotel. Check-in at noon. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2
Baku – Absheron Peninsula – Baku
Today you will visit the Old Town of Baku “Icheri Sheher” and Absheron peninsula.
Start sightseeing tour in Icheri Sheher. Visit Maiden Tower, Shirvan Shahs’ Palace, Caravanserai, and market square with numerous art studios and souvenirs stalls. An excellent round-up to the city tour will be visit to the richest bank of Azeri carpets – National Carpets Museum.
Later drive to Ateshgah – temple of fire worshippers located in Surakhany village. Zoroastrians from India travelled thousands of kilometers to Ateshgah to worship fire coming out of the earth. Continue to YanardagMountain with natural gas burning for several thousands of years. Return to Baku. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3
Baku – Xinaliq – Quba – Baku
In the morning depart north-west of Baku. Drive through Red Town (Krasnaya Sloboda), the biggest settlement of Mountain Jews in Azerbaijan. The road to Xinaliq lies through picturesque mountain road on the altitude of 2,000 m. Enjoy breathtaking views of the landscape. Xinaliq It is one of most ancient settlements in the country where people have been continuously living for more than 5,000 years.
Return to Baku. On the way back stop at Quba mass grave. Arrive in Baku. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4
Baku – Shamakha – Lahij – Gabala
In the morning, departure from your hotel to Shamakha. On the way, visit Diri Baba mausoleum in Maraza village. Continue to Shamakha and have a sightseeing of historical Juma Mosque, Yeddi Gumbez Mausoleum, and the Shirvan Shah's family grave yard. Drive through Girdimanchay River’s canyon to visit Lahij, the 5th century place rich in its historic and architectural values. Lahij is an ancient village with charming eye-catching sidewalks inlaid by stones. It is famous for medieval water supply and sewage systems as well as traditional workshops making jewelry, copperware, carpets, pottery, daggers, and iron tools.
In the afternoon, continue driving to our final destination for the evening the city of Gabala. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 5
Gabala – Kish – Sheki
In the morning, check-out from hotel and drive to Sheki. On the way, visit the first Albanian church in Caucasus dating back to the 1st century AD. Have sightseeing tour around Sheki. Visit stunning Sheki Khans’ Palace, a medieval fortress, and local History Museum. Continue to local mosque, handicrafts workshop, madrasah, and bazaar. Enjoy panoramic view of the town. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 6
Sheki – Ganja
In the morning, depart Sheki and drive to Ganja (150 km, 2.5 hours), the second biggest city in Azerbaijan.
Start sightseeing tour on arrival. Visit the Mosque of Shah Abbas, medieval Ganja caravansary and Chokek Hammam (medieval bathes), the Museum of Miniature, and unique Bottle house decorated with thousands of bottles. Pay a visit to the Mausoleum of famous Azerbaijan poet Nizami Gyanjavi and continue to local bazaar. Drive out of the city to a small town of Goygol to visit village Helenendorf that was settled in the winter of 1818-1819 by 194 Swabian German families. German architecture of local buildings will surprise you. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 7
Ganja – Naftalan
In the morning, depart Ganja and drive to Naftalan (60 km, 1 hour), the center of medical tourism in Azerbaijan. This day we explore Naftalan, the city famous for naphthalane oil and its medical effect. Visit Museum of Cruthes. You can take an oil bath or any other recreational procedure. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 8
Naftalan – Gobustan – Baku
In the morning, we depart Naftalan and drive to UNESCO site Gobustan National Park (275 km, 4-5 hours). Pay a visit to the Petroglyphs Museum and explore petroglyphs dating back to 10,000 BC. Continue to mud volcanoes in Gobustan Reserve. Gobustan is home to almost half of world’s mud volcanoes.
Return to Baku. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 9
Baku
Continue exploring the city with visit to Memory Alley – “Shehidler Khiyabany”, from where you can have a great panoramic view of Baku city. Continue touring new Baku and exploring architecture of XIX- XX centuries: Nizami Street, Fountain Square, Nizami Ganjavi monument, Rasul-Zade Street. Pay a visit to Azerbaijan History National Museum. Free time in the afternoon. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 10
Baku – departure
Check-out from the hotel till noon. Transfer to Baku International Airport. End of the tour.
